New Boro rice has come into the market, and the prices of coarse (golden) and medium (pajama and lata) rice have started to come down. However, there is no major impact on the price of narrow rice (miniket and Nazirshail).
After visiting the capital's Malibagh and Segunbagicha markets and talking to the traders of the Mohammadpur Krishi market, it is known that broiler chicken is being sold at Tk 220 to Tk 225 per kg. Poultry Association Meeting: Who is raising the price of chicken and eggs?
When the price of an egg in the capital's retail market is around 13 taka, the marginal farmers have sold the eggs wholesale at the rate of 9 taka. Similarly, they are selling broiler chicken wholesale at Tk 135 per kg. But the chicken is being sold at 180 to 190 taka per kg in the retail market of Dhaka. Small farmers are affected by this. Farmers complain that middlemen are getting bigger and bigger. But the farmers did not tell who these middlemen are.
Farmers made these complaints at the discussion meeting of Bangladesh Poultry Association (BPA) yesterday at Dhaka Reporters Unity
pointed out The full committee of the organization has also been announced on this day. The committee demanded the formation of a poultry board to protect small farmers. It was informed in the discussion meeting that the leaders of the organization will work to protect the interests of farmers in the future.
Marginal farmers said at the event that the cost of production has almost doubled due to the increase in the price of chicken feed. But they are not getting the price of chicken and eggs at that rate. On the contrary, the marginal farmers of the country are getting low prices of chicken and eggs due to the influence of big businessmen and corporate companies in the Dhaka wholesale market. Yesterday, farmers sold an egg at Tk 9, broiler chicken at Tk 135 to Tk 137 per kg and golden chicken at Tk 225. This price is much lower than the market price.
According to Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) Dhaka market price calculation, eggs were sold in the market yesterday at Tk 46 to Tk 50 per egg. The price of each egg is 11 and a half to 12 and a half taka. And broiler chicken was sold at 175 to 185 per kg. Apart from this, the price of golden chicken in the market of the capital was Tk 320 to 340 per kg.
In this situation, the farmers have raised the question, who is increasing the price of chicken and eggs so much after bringing eggs from small farmers for 9 rupees and broiler chickens for 135 rupees.

In the event, he said, "If the farmers cannot survive, there will be an adverse effect on the rural economy." Farmers should be sustained for this.
