I felt like a doormat in relationships before Nick: Priyanka

In a recent interview, Priyanka Chopra stated that she holds no grudge against people in Bollywood, who have 'cornered' her in the past.
Priyanka recently made headlines when she talked about Bollywood on an international podcast. She talked about how people pushed her into a corner, which eventually led to her leaving Bollywood for good. However, she did not mention any specific names.
Recently, during the promotion of her upcoming series, "Citadel", the actress revealed that she has made peace with her past.
When asked why she chose to discuss it after all these years, Priyanka stated, "On that podcast, I was asked about my life journey. I was discussing the truth of my journey, and I believe I was now comfortable discussing that period of my life. I believe that where I am now allows me to express how I felt."
In a recent episode of the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, Priyanka Chopra talked about her past relationships and how they made her feel like a "doormat". She revealed that she used to jump from one relationship to another without taking any breaks in between. She also admitted that she had a tendency to date actors she worked with or people she met on set, as she had a preconceived notion of what a relationship should be like and tried to fit people into that mold. Despite this pattern, she considers herself a monogamist and is now happily married to Nick Jonas, who she says is her biggest supporter.

Priyanka Chopra recently opened up about her personal experience on gender equality to the media at a pay parity event held yesterday at Mumbai, India.
The actor shared, "I have some incredible men in my life who are not insecure of my success, but I also have men in my life who are very insecure of my success. So I think that men have enjoyed the freedom and the pride of being the breadwinners or the leaders of the family. It's threatening to their territory when a woman does that or if a woman is more successful or a man is staying at home and woman is going out to work—he will feel bad."

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has spoken out in support of Priyanka Chopra, following the latter's statement that she left Bollywood because she was pushed into a corner.
In a recent interview, the former Miss World had stated that she was being "pushed into a corner" and was "tired of the politics" in the film industry, which made her leave Bollywood at the 'peak' of her career.
Kangana was one of the first to respond to Priyanka's comments, claiming that Karan Johar had banned her. Priyanka and Kangana previously collaborated on the film "Fashion" in 2008.
On Tuesday morning, Kangana tweeted in response to a news article about Priyanka Chopra's statement, writing, "This is what @priyankachopra has to say about Bollywood, people ganged up on her, bullied her, and chased her out of the film industry, a self-made woman was made to leave India. Everyone is aware that Karan Johar banned her."
"This rude, envious, cruel and toxic individual should be held accountable for damaging the culture and climate of the industry, which was never unfriendly to outsiders in the days of AB or SRK. His (Karan Johar's) gang and mafia PR should be raided and made accountable for harassing outsiders," she added.
"But we have to teach our sons that there is no shame in crying, there is no shame in tears, there is no shame in sharing with your mother, sister, and give them the opportunity, or your wife or girlfriend, give them the spotlight," mentioned Priyanka.
She added, "My father did that for my mother when she started private practice and while my father was still in the military. She started earning more than my father, but he saw it as a unit. Because it's benefiting our home.
Priyanka attests that she has seen such a practice in her home and feels immensely proud when her husband 'steps aside and gives her the spotlight'. The actor believes there's much more to be insecure about, than these trivial matters.
"My husband makes me feel so seen and so heard and in fact, he thrives on seeing me shine, like he is the most excited about the shows I am doing, he is the most excited when I am on a carpet, he will step aside and he will take pictures of me," Priyanka shared while adding that Nick is everything a woman would want in her partner.
After a two-year relationship, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra tied the knot in 2018. They are now the proud parents of a daughter named Malti Marie Jonas.
She will be soon seen in the romantic-comedy "Love Again" alongside Sam Heughan. The movie is slated to release tomorrow.
